Voter Viewer is a field-organizing application provided by Seamless Communications Group Inc. ("SCG," "we," "us," "our") to authorized political campaigns and organizations (each, a "Campaign"). This Privacy Policy explains how the Voter Viewer mobile application (the "App") handles information.
The App is a private tool for a Campaign's authorized staff and volunteers. It is not offered to the general public and cannot be used without sign-in credentials issued by a Campaign. For each Campaign that uses the App, the Campaign is the controller of the information in the App; SCG provides and maintains the App on the Campaign's behalf.
Who uses the App
The App is used only by a Campaign’s authorized staff and volunteers (“Users”), who sign in with credentials the Campaign provides. There is no public sign‑up and no way to use the App without a Campaign account.
1. Information in the App
Working on the Campaign’s behalf, the App handles:
- Voter‑file data. The App displays voter‑registration information the Campaign has lawfully obtained (for example, from a state voter file or a licensed data provider): names, residential addresses, party, age, and, where available, telephone numbers and email addresses. This is information about registered voters in the Campaign’s area, shown to authorized Users for canvassing, phone‑banking, and outreach.
- Field activity. As Users canvass, the App records outreach results (spoke with, not home, refused, left literature), notes, a voter’s level of support, and any corrections to a voter’s contact details that a User enters.
- Field contacts. Users may add a person they meet (for example, at an event) who is not in the voter file — the name, phone, email, and address that person provides.
- User (volunteer) information. A User’s name is used to sign in and to attribute their field activity to them. A short‑lived session token is stored on the device to keep the User signed in.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect personal information about the owner of the device beyond the User’s sign‑in name and the field activity described above.
- The App does not access your device’s address book/contacts, photos, or microphone, and does not track your location in the background.
- The App contains no advertising and no third‑party advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not use App data to build advertising profiles.
3. How information is used
Information in the App is used solely to operate the Campaign’s field program — to show authorized Users whom to contact, to record the results of that contact, and to let the Campaign coordinate and report on its outreach. It is not used for any purpose unrelated to the Campaign’s field operations.
4. Text messages (SMS)
Where a Campaign enables it, the App can send text messages to the Campaign’s contacts through the Campaign’s messaging provider (for example, Twilio). Those messages are governed by the Campaign’s own SMS terms and privacy policy and by applicable consent and telemarketing laws. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt‑in / consent data are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and are used only to deliver the Campaign’s messages.
5. How information is stored and secured
App data is stored on the Campaign’s server infrastructure and is transmitted between the App and that server over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access requires a valid Campaign sign‑in. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards; however, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. How information is shared
SCG does not sell App data. We share it only:
- with the Campaign, whose information it is;
- with service providers that operate the App on the Campaign’s behalf (such as hosting and message‑delivery providers), and only to the extent needed to run the service; and
- when required by law or to protect legal rights.
7. Retention and deletion
App data is retained for the Campaign’s use and under the Campaign’s direction. Because the Campaign controls its own data, requests to access, correct, or delete information a User entered are handled **through the Campaign**. Voter‑file records are maintained and corrected through the Campaign and the applicable board of elections.
8. Children
The App is a tool for authorized campaign workers. It is not directed to, or intended for use by, children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through the App.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above.
